The headline findings, each with how sure we can be.
Four separate measures, each on its own scale. Tournaments come from T³, AdeptiCon and event reports; games from battle reports and tournament write-ups; posts from r/battlefleetgothic.
Popularity = share of tournament entries. Placement = average finishing percentile (100 = winner, 50 = middle of the field) with each player's own skill factored out. In games = expected win % against an average opponent (Bradley–Terry, opponent strength accounted for). Grey whiskers are 95 % intervals: the longer the line, the less we know.
Values read as estimate (95 % interval). A placement of 50 is the middle of the field; 50 % in games is even against an average opponent.
Each fleet's share (%) of the era's records. Shade = share; the cell shows share and row count.
The row fleet's score (%) against the column fleet; a draw counts ½. Blue = the row fleet wins more often, red = it loses more often. Cells with fewer than 3 games stay grey – nothing can be read from them. Select a cell to list the games.
Inclusion % = share of the fleet's ship-level lists that field at least one ship of the class. Bar colour = hull class. Whisker = 95 % interval. "avg" = how many of the class are taken when it is taken at all.
Share of all hulls in each fleet's lists. The selected fleet is highlighted.
How many of the selected fleet's lists mention the option.
Every ship-level list is sorted into one of five archetypes by its hull mix. The bar shows how each fleet's lists split.
Lists that can be tied to a reported game result or a tournament placement.
Small sample – indicative only. Score % = (wins + ½ draws) / games.
Inclusion % in lists actually played (tournaments, reported games) compared with "rate my list" drafts. Largest differences first.
Everything here was read from public pages – official tournament results, tournament databases, forum threads, blogs, the full r/battlefleetgothic archive, magazines and video descriptions – plus one community Discord shared by its owner. Nothing was typed in from memory, and every record keeps a link to the page it came from.
Grouped by where the data lives. Counts are records in the database after verification and de-duplication. "Checked" = share of the family's games re-read from the source by an independent check.
Each game carries an evidence tier; each source a reliability grade.
The September 2026 collection ran one agent per source family. A second, independent agent then re-opened the source of every game result, every tournament and a sample of fleet lists and tried to refute them. Refuted and duplicate records were dropped; wrong fields were corrected.
The same data as on this page. Player names are left out of the public files.
